The film portraits the story of some of the characters in the superhit Malayalam movie Udayananu Thaaram released in 2005.

The movie which hit the theatres on 14th January 2012 has opened with slightly negative reviews. Here is what the web world says about the movie.

Padmashree Bharat Dr. Saroj Kumar is an idea gone wrong. Overall, the film disappoints big time and one sincerely hopes that Sreenivasan comes up with a good script in his future films. If you want to kill your time and have nothing better to do, then maybe you could check this out. Watch at your own risk! Reviewed by Yentha

Which is just as well, as it turns out to be a disappointment. Sreenivasan's writing, too, reaches its lowest point. On the whole, Padmasree Bharat Dr Saroj Kumar is disappointing, to say the least. Reviewed by Rediff
